”One touch is all that it takes, one touch and it all breaks… one touch will cure; one touch will obscure” … (performance by Eva Petrič). in the Chapel of the magdas HOTEL  in Vienna last Monday.

I was honored to be a part of the initiative “NACHBARIN SALLE PRIVÉE” — room behind violence
in collaboration with magdas HOTEL, Vienna which served also as the opening event of 16 Days Against Violence Towards Women.

Day 1 against violence towards women started with NACHBARIN- SALLE PRIVÉE, a multi-room artistic intervention that took place throughout magdas HOTEL in Vienna’s 3rd district.

Conceived as a station-based theatre and spatial exhibition, SALLE PRIVÉE uses art as a public space to address the many forms of violence faced by women today — psychological, physical, social, economic, and institutional.

Seven hotel rooms and one chapel were transformed into immersive environments where artists translated lived experiences into image, gesture, sound, voice, and presence. By inviting visitors into intimate, once-private spaces, SALLE PRIVÉE seeks to break silence and build new forms of solidarity.

I am honored to have participated with my multimedia installation and performance set within my Installation, placed into the chapel exploring the fragile boundary between caring touch and violating touch:
“One touch too much becomes one touch never again.”
