FAQ
“Art to Wear” collections stem from a particular art installation of multimedia artist Eva Petric. Each “Art to Wear” collection and each “Art to Wear” item is the literal residue of an already realized art installation of multimedia artist Eva Petric. The vision behind the collection is not to constantly be racing against time and other collections out there, but to show that we ourselves are works of art. The vision behind the “Art to Wear” collection is to place the limelight on our bodies, to visualize our body’s emotions, which are too often placed into the shadows. By wearing an “Art to Wear” item you are literally part of a particular art installation of artist Eva Petric, continuing its exhibition on your body and in real time.
From the various art installations that were created in site-specific places all around the world from 2011 onwards, and from the wish to have these installations become also a part of those who did not have the chance to visit the installations.
All the pieces verify by a signed certificate that they belong to a particular art installation. Visually, the “Art to Wear”, depending on which particular collection it is, contains particular images as prints from particular art works/ installations that it stems from. Thus, each “Art to Wear” item is an extension of a particular art installation, extending into everyday life as it is worn by you...
Yes..."Art to Wear" garments are all produced locally in Slovenia by particular seamstresses, the knitwear is handmade by an older generation of women, enabling them to earn money beyond their pension and in their own home setting, comfortably. The leather is all recycled leather from Italian and Slovene companies, offering the surplus of their leather production that would otherwise end up in the trash, polluting our planet. By these, a new context is acquired to live within as a unique, one of a kind item of "Art to Wear" that only you, and no one else in the world, will ever wear!
As for any other art piece, no special care is needed, except your total admiration of the piece. The knitwear is washable, while silk and leather need dry cleaning.
We ship everywhere and anywhere for a small shipping fee, the price depending on whether you chose standard or express shipment.

Each "Art to Wear" item comes with a certificate verifying this and most pieces are made of one of a kind materials that are often the result of recycling and are existing in very small amounts. So rest assured, you are the only one wearing it. Further, many of the materials are also precious remains from Antiquarian shops or from flea markets from around the world, which require being at the right place, and at the right time, in order to acquire them.
